Boys’ Brigade Headquarters issued the following on the 30th October 2020:
- Residential activities are not expected to be permitted until 1st May 2021 at the earliest (previously 1st January 2021).We would advise leaders to consider contractual/financial obligations and where necessary make contact with venues/providers to review contracts/terms for cancellation to understand the options available should events/activities have to be postponed or cancelled. We will review this as necessary in line with the BB Operating Stages, which do not permit residential activities until Stage 4. In conjunction with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award we are currently looking at whether expeditions could be permitted before other residential activity can take place (i.e. from the start of the expedition season in 2021).
Update at November 2020: Following the above statement the Canoe Club has cancelled its residential events until May 2021.
The next residential event (provisionally) booked is Sheffield in May 2021. This will be reviewed as guidance on future events becomes clearer.
Non-residential paddling events are currently being reviewed in line with guidance from Boys’ Brigade Headquarters and British Canoeing.
Please check the Calendar on the Trips & Events page which will be updated as details become available.
We exist to promote the sport of canoeing within the Boys’ Brigade and offer training courses & trips to support this.
